Baby And Toddler Swimming
Q & A
-
When is it safe to take a baby swimming?
you may be surprised to know that babies can go swimming from any age, however we recommend consulting your health visitor for advice specific to your little one.
2. Do I need a special nappy?
Swim nappies are required as well as a sealing nappy such as a "happy nappy" in order to prevent accidents in the pool, however these can both be bought at a relatively low cost. PLEASE NOTE: Day today nappies are not suitable for swimming, special swimming nappies are required such as "Pampers swim nappies"
3. Do I need a wetsuit for my baby?
Baby wet suits can be worn if you prefer to use one however as our pool is very warm they are not a necessity if you would rather not use one.
4. How much do your lessons cost?
Our baby swimming lessons are £13 per child and paid for in four weekly block.
5. Is there somewhere I can leave my pram/buggy?
During baby and toddler swimming lessons there will be a buggy park set up for use.
6. Is there an Adult to baby/toddler ratio?
We do have a set ratio of one adult to one baby/toddler in place to ensure that you get the most out of your swimming lesson, due to the activities we do in the pool you will find it much more comfortable having just one child with you, however friends and family are always welcome to come along to lend a helping hand in the water if you have more than one child.
7. Is the class just for parents and children?
Absolutely not, we understand that it's not always possible for parents to take their children swimming themselves.
Life as a parent can be hectic enough without finding time for another activity, but we don't want that to get in the way for you.
Our lessons are fully inclusive and we welcome any friends or family that want to help keep little ones swimming.
8. what do I do if baby needs a feed during or after a lesson?
Its no surprise that little ones get hungry on their own schedule and we can't always plan things around that, but should baby need feeding before, during or after a lesson, we encourage everyone to do so, whether it be bottle or breastfed, it can be done on the poolside, in a changing room or in the water by sitting on the steps, wherever you feel comfortable to do so.
Our only rule regarding feeding is that baby's face be away from the water to ensure they don't take in pool water as well as milk.
Baby and toddler swimming Lessons are perfect for giving your little one a flying start into their water journey, it can help develop confidence, social skills, dexterity, muscle growth and of course swimming skills to name a few benefits, and no matter how "little" your little ones are they will be more than comfortable in our warm water pool, and small groups of no more than 4 pairs!
As with all of our lessons, Baby and toddler swimming enrollment is done on a monthly basis so there's no need to commit to a 10 or more-week course.
After registering your interest you will be contacted by a member of our team to discuss any previous experience that you or your little one may have, you will have the chance to ask any questions if you are unsure or concerned about anything and finally, we will have a look at what time and day may be best suited to your schedule.
If you have any queries or concerns before bringing your little ones swimming in our pool please feel free to give us a call on 01407 453 553 and our friendly team will be happy to answer all of your questions before you make any bookings with us, or if you are eager to get started just click bellow to fill out one of our registration forms and we will contact you as soon as possible!
